ABOUT US: The Friendly Bird Inn started from a little idea that popped into our heads while planning a holiday and trying to decide what to do without pet cockatiel ajax. We thought to ourselves other people must have the same problem as us so that's when we started working on our bird boarding idea. Then came the Friendly Bird Cuisine which also come together while thinking about our own birds and what we wanted them to eat. So that's when we decided to dehydrate all our fruit and vegetables for them to nibble on along with some raw nuts for that extra crunch.

OUR MISSION: Being enthusiastic bird lover we wanted to offer our boarding services to those people who have no one to care for there pets while away on holidays or business. We wanted to give your pet birds the same environment they have in there own home. While in our care you’re pet bird will become apart of our feathered family. We also want to provide a Yummmy new food product that your birds will enjoy as well as be healthy and interesting for them to eat.

boarding requirements

For all owners, we require that you arrive and depart with your pet in an appropriate, escape proof, in transit housing. For All owners, wherever practical, to provide their own pet’s familiar, escape proof housing to help reduce stress to the animal that change of environment may cause.

Booking: For security and to assure you of our undivided attention we require a drop off and pick up time.

Verification of an annual avian examination within 12 months of boarding is preferred "see note".

Payment Methods: 1. Cash 2. EFTPOS (A $2.00 surcharge applies)

All reservations will require a deposit in the form of either credit card money order or cash to confirm the reservation.

There is a minimum $15 charge for birds dropped off or picked up outside of regularly scheduled office hours, subject to staff approval.

CANCELLATION POLICY: 48 hours notice required to avoid 15% cancellation fee. For holidays, 7 day notice is required.

Boarding Agreement: You must be willing to sign an agreement with Friendly Bird Inn for relinquishment if your bird is not picked up (or other arrangements made) within 14 days after the scheduled pick-up date.

Note: We cannot be responsible for anything that happens if the bird/birds have not been recently & fully vet checked prior to boarding. If in the event something does happen we would take the bird to a vet at the owner’s expense. We are not responsible for fire, theft, or acts of nature. We are not responsible for a pre-existing condition, poor health, old age or incorrect instructions that result in illness or death.

We Offer all our guest birds

Food
Mix diet including a quality seed mix as well as millet sprays accompanied by fresh water.

Fruit and Vegetables
All are thoroughly washed before feeding.

Extra
Cuttlefish for calcium and grit to aid digestion.

Hygiene
Food, water dishes, perches and floor coverings of cage housing are cleaned daily.

Interaction
Priority is given to social contact contributing to the happiness and well-being of your pet bird whilst in our care.

Playtime
Short periods of time spent outside within there cage to benefit a 'sunbath' this is done supervised & subject to weather etc
